Day 16 off to Canterbury Cathedral

Well, I have seen some amazing churches, Minsters and cathedrals since i have been here, every one special in its own right but Canterbury Cathedral..... Wow!!! I must have taken 100 photos inside today, so much to see and so much history. Then there are the tombs of all the Archbishops dating back to before 1200AD, the stained glass windows and the architecture. Just mind blowing. Lots of war memorials along the walls of the knave, dating way before WW1 and all beautifully carved in marble. Then there are the tombs that were there during the reign of King Henry XIII, who ordered them to be desacrated and all the heads are cut off any type of figure whether human or animal. Wow!!!
The walled village of Canterbury itself is beautiful with alot of old buildings from lots of different periods and even a witches dunking post, where they got dunked to see if they were a witch or not. if they drowned then they weren't a witch but were dead, and if you lived you were obviously a witch and tried and killed anyway. You couldn't win....
