Day 23 Crufts dog show
Off to Crufts today. I used to watch it on the TV when I was younger but I dont think it is televised anymore. However it is still the most prestigious dog show in the world, with many international entries. In fact for the best in show finale, only 2 of the 7 were British dogs or owners. It was huge. Five massive arenas and then the theatre itself. We went to see the Bichons being judged in arena 26. 170 dogs and bitches were entered for showing and to enter Crufts you have to have won elsewhere. The most entries were for labradors of which there were 570, imagine how long that takes to judge. Anyway, we had a lovely day. Jess did a fabulous job volunteering for the three days for the agency she works with, Pets as Therapy.. Back to Vo's on the train, the return train fare to Crufts was £3.40 and plenty of trains for a Sunday. Much we could learn from.
