Day 18 Littlestone to Birmingham

A sad and early goodbye to Jo and Nigel who had gone above and beyond looking after me and showing me around. I had decided to leave early and go up to Birmingham  later so I could have a bit more time in London. So I had to navigate my self around on the underground and buses but it was all good. It's such an efficient and easy way to get around. Today I went to the Imperial War Museum. A pretty imposing building with the massive guns off a battleship at the front. It was well done. They had just revamped their WW1 section with lots of child friendly  technology and updated displays. I have found since I have been here though we get a little mention if at all of the Anzac or that whole part of the war. I know it's not where the English lost a lot of lives but Australia and New Zealand did as part of the empire.....
I felt a lot of pain and sadness there. I came across a little gem though when I left, of a tibetan peace garden that was opened by the Dalai Lama.  It was lovely and peaceful with some very good messages for the world.
A compulsory walk past Harrods and the shop windows for easter.
Then off to the Princess Di memorial in Hyde Park.  We had seen it before but it wasn't open and I wanted to see it working with the water. I have always been a Diana fan. So sad, she got killed like she did and missed seeing her boys grow up. She loved them so much and she was just coming into her own and finding her purpose in life. Anyway it was very peaceful. Then on the bus again and off to Birmingham.
